BILLINGS — Wildfire concerns are on the rise.

The hot and dry weather over the weekend has increased wildfire danger in the region.

Several wildfires are burning across the state Sunday afternoon - one just to the west of Billings, north of Park City.

East winds have limited the development of thunderstorms this weekend, but an approaching cold front could produce a few strong to severe thunderstorms across the region Monday afternoon and evening.

Severe thunderstorms could produce quarter-size hail, strong gusty winds and lightning.

The forecast for Billings

Tonight: Clear skies, northeast winds 5 to 15 mph and a low of 62.

Monday: Sunny and hot with light northeast winds, a 20% chance of isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms and a high of 95.

Monday night: Mostly cloudy, a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms and a low of 63.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, cooler, a 20% chance of isolated afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms and a high of 87.
