BILLINGS — Monsoon moisture has been moving around a huge ridge to the south of Montana and Wyoming, and it brought rain showers and thunderstorms to the northern Rockies on Saturday. That activity will continue its trek eastward this evening and overnight. Lows will range from the lower 50s to the lower 60s.
An approaching trough of low pressure and cold front will push over the northern Rockies on Sunday, which will strengthen our wind and create another round of rain showers and thunderstorms. We'll have higher fire danger in western Montana with Red Flag Warnings in effect through Sunday evening. Be safe!
In the wake of the cold frontal passage on Monday, our weather will be quieter and a little cooler for some, but still seasonable. Just enough monsoon moisture will move toward our area that we'll have isolated thunderstorms, but little rain will fall. Thursday will bring a slightly better chance for active weather.
