BILLINGS — Full Forecast

A Record Month:

According to the National Weather Service, this was the second snowiest October on Record. 19.9 inches fell this month at the airport. This is second only to October of 1949, when we got 23.1 inches.

Current Conditions:

Temps in the 50’s and high 40’s for most of the region.

Wind Advisory for All of Western ND till 9pm.

Some of that will affect Eastern MT.

There is a Lake Wind Advisory till 6pm at Fort Peck Lake. Winds could be gusting up to 40 mph. Expect rough waves. Hazardous Conditions for small crafts.

Also, a Hazardous Weather Outlook due to the wind for Southeastern MT till tonight. Places like Rosebud, Custer, Fallon, Powder River, Carter. Gusting winds between 40-60 mph. Use caution when traveling, especially with a large truck of trailer.

Gusting winds will continue through the early evening but will decrease as we move into the overnight.

Temps into the high 20’s and low 30’s for most of us.

Full Moon Tonight! This is the second full moon for this month. When this happens, we call the second full moon a ‘blue moon.’ This happens roughly every two to three years and a blue moon only happens on Halloween roughly every 19 years!

Remember Don't forget to set your clocks back and hour before you go to bed tonight. Tomorrow, Nov 1, at 2 AM, the clocks will fall back an hour as daylight savings ends.

Tomorrow (Sunday):

Warmer and dry tomorrow, with temps into the 50’s and 60’s. Still some wind across the plains. Could see gusts reach 30 mph.

Temps tomorrow night will be in the 20’s and 30’s.

Monday - Saturday:

Mostly sunny skies and temps above normal. Could see a windy day on Wednesday with the jet stream pushing down from Canada, but for the most part, we are on track to have a very nice fall week ahead.

The only thing we really must keep watching is next Saturday into Sunday. We may see some rain and even snow move into our area.

Till then, Happy Halloween!
