BILLINGS — Forecast

Today/Tonight : Cool front has been moving into the region today bringing with it a few drops of rain in parts and even light showers in the foothills and mountains.

Air Quality Warnings are still in effect until Sunday morning in and around Billings and Air Quality Warnings go till 12pm through out most of Wyoming.

Red Flag Fire warning in effect for parts of South Eastern Montana till 8 and even 9pm in certain spots. Big Horn, Carbon, Yellowstone, Powder River, Rosebud and Treasure Counties are all part of this warning. North Eastern WY Counties effected are Big Horn, Johnson, Sheridan and Washakie.

High temps, low humidity, gusty winds up to 30 mph and the chance of an isolated thunderstorm all make this area primed for fire. Please be careful out there.

Temps will drop back down into the 50’s throughout much of the region, but we are starting to see overnight temps in the 30’s in places like Butte and West Yellowstone.

Tomorrow: Again, Air Quality Warnings are still in effect until Sunday morning in and around Billings and Air Quality Warnings go till 12pm through out most of Wyoming. 35mph Gusty winds also expected throughout the day and temps will be in the 70’s.

Monday – Saturday: Dry and slightly warmer than normal for most of the week ahead. Temps into the 70’s and 80’s. While no fire warnings are posted, there is still potential for wildfire until we start seeing wetter conditions.

Tuesday, by the way, is the first day of Fall!
