BILLINGS — An interim chief of police has been named by the Billings Police Department due to the upcoming retirement of Chief Rich St. John.
St. John is set to retire on Sept. 30.
Assistant Chief of Police Shawn Mayo was named interim chief effective Oct. 1.
According to a BPD social media post, Mayo has served the department and Billings community for 25 years.
