BILLINGS - The man who was fatally shot Sunday night in what police describe as a dispute between neighbors was identified Wednesday.
The Yellowstone County Coroner's Office said Kyle Reed, 33, died from a single gunshot to the head.
The shooting happened at about 7:30 p.m. outside a residence in the 1300 block of Custer Avenue. Reed died at the scene, and officers detained a 30-year-old man for questioning. He was later released and police said Tuesday the shooting remains under investigation.
The men were neighbors and the shooting happened in front of the home of the 30-year-old man, police said. Two handguns, one belonging to each of the men, were recovered from the scene.
