BILLINGS - Police said Tuesday the shooting death of Billings man Sunday evening remains under investigation.

In a press release, Lt. Brandon Wooley said no arrests have been made in the fatal shooting that happened at about 7:30 p.m. outside a residence in the 1300 block of Custer Avenue.

When officers arrived, Wooley said, they found a 32-year man dead of a gunshot wound. A 30-year-old man was detained at the scene and identified as the shooter. That man was questioned and released.

The men were neighbors and the shooting happened in front of the home of the 30-year-old man, Wooley said. Two handguns, one belonging to each of the men, were recovered from the scene.

The investigation is ongoing, Wooley said, and the names of the two men have not been released.
