If you haven’t been to Wendy’s lately, you might have missed out on some delicious news. The fast-food chain opened by Dave Thomas in 1969 is finally serving breakfast, and the offerings are mouthwatering.
In autumn of 2019, Wendy’s announced it would be rolling out its new morning menu sometime in 2020. Now we know that day will arrive on March 2, with a new breakfast menu launching nationwide that includes sandwiches, sides and satisfying beverages.
If you’re a fan of bacon, the menu won’t disappoint. Wendy’s posted the news on Instagram, along with a short video of their breakfast Baconator, a breakfast sammie with six strips of bacon:
The new menu can be broken down into three categories: sandwiches, sides and coffee drinks, along with a few extra choices. The sandwich options include three categories: croissants, biscuits and classics, which are sandwiches on buns.
For instance, you might choose a maple bacon chicken croissant, which is a savory-and-sweet combination of juicy chicken, applewood-smoked bacon and maple butter. Biscuit sandwiches are topped with breakfast faves like sausage, egg and cheese. Or you could dive into the hearty breakfast Baconator’s layers of sausage, cheese, bacon and egg covered in swiss cheese sauce.
Sides include seasoned potatoes and apple bites, and you can also grab a breakfast burrito or a biscuit with sausage gravy.
Of course, no breakfast is complete without coffee, and no meal from Wendy’s would be complete without a Frosty. The breakfast menu is no exception. The Frosty-ccino is cold-brewed coffee swirled with your choice of chocolate or vanilla Frosty mix and served over ice. Regular cold-brewed coffee, freshly brewed coffee and orange juice are available, as well.
Wendy’s says most locations start serving breakfast at 6:30 a.m. So if you want to get your hands on a honey butter chicken biscuit or creamy Frosty-ccino, you’re going to have to make an early Wendy’s run!
