A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for Billings Tuesday p.m. through Thursday a.m..

A powerful winter storm system will move through the region late Tuesday through Wednesday night.

Along with cold temperatures, significant snow accumulations are expected in the mountains and across the plains.

Although specifics about snow totals at this time are uncertain, it appears the Billings area could see between at least four to eight inches of snow Wednesday.

Daytime highs will climb to around 70 Tuesday, and then no warmer than the upper 20s on Wednesday and Thursday.

Tuesday: Partly sunny, a 30 percent chance of afternoon showers and a high of 70.
