BILLINGS — Except for the wind, the weekend looks pretty quiet. Be aware of changes before the Thanksgiving holiday.
With plenty of sunshine, afternoon highs Friday will be mainly into the upper 40s to mid 50s. Winds will continue to strengthen down the east mountain slopes around Livingston, Big Timber and Harlowton with gusts of 45 to 55 mph possible through Sunday.
Billings will stay breezy through the weekend with sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph. Areas east of Billings will see less wind.
Expect increasing clouds through the weekend, but temperatures remain fairly consistent. By late Sunday, showers will redevelop in the area bringing periods of rain and snow heading in the Monday.
The overall trend is cooler next week, with highs struggling to hit 30 by Thanksgiving. The chance of showers also increases, although a lot of questions about the timing and the amount of rain and snow remain.
Billings forecast:
Friday… Sunny with a high near 50. Westerly wind 15 to 25 mph.
Friday night… Mostly clear with a low near 31. Breezy periods continue.
