BILLINGS — Our next weather system slides into the area late Thursday through Saturday morning.

Thursday will be mainly dry ahead of our next weather system. High temperatures will range from the 60s to mid 70s from Billings to the west, and 70s to low 80s east of Billings.

Showers and thunderstorms will develop into the mountain foothills by Thursday afternoon and evening, and spread across the plains Thursday night. Some storms could be strong over extreme southeastern Montana with wind, hail and heavy rain all threats.

Showers and isolated thunderstorms will dominate the weather Friday in Friday night. High elevation snow is likely through Saturday. Friday afternoon high temperatures will be mainly in the mid to lower 60s, although some areas likely won’t make it out of the 50s all day.

Lingering showers are expected Saturday morning, especially from Billings to the east. The system will move out Saturday night with drier weather and seasonal temperatures in the 70s to follow.
