BILLINGS — A quick turnaround of the temperatures will build in warmer readings through Saturday.

High pressure across the area leads to a nice warm-up today. Still a little below seasonal averages, temperatures will be in the 30s to mid 40s for the highs.

Expect plenty of afternoon sun, and mostly clear overnight. Lows won’t be nearly as cold, staying in the 20s to low 30s.

High temperatures will be mainly in the 50s on Friday and Saturday, with the possibility of a few low 60s Saturday afternoon through southern Montana and northern Wyoming. Winds will increase down the east mountain slopes in the Livingston/Nye area and make it breezy around Billings at 15 to 25 mph.

Everything comes crashing down again late Saturday into Sunday. Rain will switch to snow Saturday evening, with cold and snow on Sunday. Highs only in the 20s Sunday and Monday with overnight temperatures in the single digits early Monday morning.

Billings forecast:

Thursday… Sunny with a high near 45. Southwest wind 10 to 20 mph.

Thursday night… Clear to mostly clear with a low of about 34. A Southwest wind continues.

Friday mainly sunny and around 58 for the high. Westerly wind 15 to 25 mph.
