BILLINGS — Slick conditions highlight Wednesday’s weather.

Areas of rain and freezing drizzle fell in much of the area before snow showers moved in overnight. This is causing some very slick conditions on roads and sidewalks that could persist through Wednesday afternoon.

Snow will taper off from north to south across the area Wednesday. High temperatures will be mainly in the 20s.

Conditions will trend warmer and drier Thursday with highs mainly in the 40s. By Friday and Saturday highs could hit the 50s or even some low 60s late Saturday. Winds will increase with a warm-up.

Another weather system crosses into the area late Saturday into Sunday producing much colder temperatures and more snow and the weekend.

Billings forecast:

Wednesday… Mainly morning light snow with a high near 24. Decreasing afternoon clouds.

Wednesday night… Mostly clear with a low of about 19.

Thursday… Sunny with a high near 45. Breezy with a Southwest wind 10 to 25 mph.
