BILLINGS — If you look really hard, you can still see a little snow up on top of the Beartooth Mountains. But it won't be there for long, with these temperatures. Already early Wednesday afternoon, it is 91 degrees in Billings with a south wind at 7 mph.

Around the rest of the state, we are mostly in the 80s and low 90s out west and all 90s back in the east. Look at Sheridan, Wyoming- they’re at 99 degrees and will probably go over 100 degrees at 2 p.m.

We currently have a Fire Weather Warning in eastern Idaho through Wednesday night. However, we think that'll extended to northern Wyoming and south-central Montana Wednesday through Saturday.

The main reason for that is, high temperatures, low humidity and dry thunderstorms moving into the area. Right now, the Doppler radar shows scattered rain showers moving into southwestern Montana.

The high-resolution forecast model shows some showers will push into western Montana Wednesday night and probably stay away from Billings.

Thursday morning, you'll see mostly cloudy skies, but by that night, around 8 p.m., we could see strong thunderstorms in Billings.

After that, they move away and on Friday, we will see mostly sunny skies from morning to afternoon.

Wednesday night, our temps will cool back down to the 50s, 60s and even a few low 70s across south-central and eastern Montana as well as northern Wyoming.

On Thursday, we are back to the 70s, 80s and a whole lot of 90s across the east. It will be 99 degrees at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in Billings, cooling back down into the 70s in the morning and up to the mid-80s, Thursday afternoon.

We will top out at 92 on Thursday and Friday, then roll back down to the upper 80s over the weekend and back to the low 90s as we start next week.
