BILLINGS — Severe thunderstorms are possible Thursday evening in the Billings area.

Conditions are favorable for the development of strong to severe thunderstorms across the region Thursday afternoon and evening, including the Billings area.

Severe thunderstorms can contain large hail, damaging 50 to 60 mph winds and brief, heavy rain.

Thunderstorms will wrap up late Thursday night, allowing mostly dry, mild and sunny weather to return for Friday.

Tonight: A 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms early on – some thunderstorms could be severe. Showers and thunderstorms will decrease later Thursday night with a low of 56.

Friday: Sunny and mild with light northeast winds and a high of 80.

Friday night: Clear skies, southwest winds 5 to 15 mph and a low of 56.

Saturday: Sunny and hot with light southwest winds and a high of 91.
