Q2 Weather: More rain by Friday

BILLINGS — A couple of nice fall days ahead of us, with rain showers and mountain snow returning on Friday.

High temperatures Wednesday will be mainly in the mid to upper 70s with sunshine for the lower elevations and a light wind. Overall, a beautiful fall day.

Overnight temperatures drop to the 40s to low 50s with just a few overnight clouds.

The next Pacific system will slowly move into the area late Thursday, bringing showers and thunderstorms west of Billings by the afternoon. Precipitation will spread to the east Thursday night and Friday.

Highs will drop from the mid to lower 70s Thursday to the 50s to 60s Friday. Showers and thunderstorms will move into the area Thursday evening, with a very good chance of rain and mountain snow Friday in Friday night.

Showers will likely linger early Saturday, with drier and warmer weather to follow.

Billings forecast:

Wednesday… Patchy morning fog. Otherwise sunny with a southerly breeze. Highs about 77.

Wednesday night… Mostly clear with a low near 50.

Sunny during the day but increasing afternoon clouds with a high around 73.
