BILLINGS — Unsettled weather is making its way into and across Montana and northern Wyoming today.

Across the region Friday, 15 to 25 mph winds will be a main feature with higher gusts possible at times.

In addition to Lake Wind Advisories for Flathead and Fort Peck, a High Wind Warning is posted from the front range of the Rockies in northwest Montana to north central Montana through midnight Friday.

Sustained winds of 30 to 40 mph will be common along with gusts up to 60 and 75 mph at times in the warning area.

A deeper Pacific trough of low pressure will bring cooler temperatures and more widespread rain and snow showers to the state over the weekend.

Tonight: Mostly clear skies, west winds 10 to 20 mph and a low of 36.
