BILLINGS — Once again, Billings is enjoying partly cloudy skies but very warm temperatures. Early Wednesday afternoon, the temperature was already at 89 degrees in Billings with a west wind at 10 mph.

Around the rest of the state, our temps are mostly to the 70s, 80s and a few 90s mixed around the region. Most of those are mainly to the north.

The big story Wednesday is the Flood Warning for southern Carter County. Two to four inches of rain has already fallen Wednesday, and we could see a little bit more so they remain in a flood warning until 9 p.m.

The Doppler radar shows the heavy rain that fell in that area earlier Wednesday. As we head into the afternoon, it looks like those showers are starting to wind down a little bit.

On Thursday, it's a Heat Advisory for the northwest corner of the state as temps continue to climb into the 90s and the 100-degree range out west.

The Flash Flood Watch continues to stay in South Dakota and parts of northeastern Wyoming through midnight.

Most of the heavy showers are rotating around this low-pressure cell in northeastern Wyoming. It's also pulling showers from the north through the Billings area, where we are seeing some sprinkles.

The high-resolution forecast model shows most of the showers will stay in northeastern Wyoming and will just see a few spotty showers in the west and in south-central Montana Wednesday.

On Thursday, we expect mostly sunny skies in the morning, which is spotty splash-and-dash showers in the afternoon. By Friday, we will see partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies with any showers sticking around the mountains.

On Wednesday night, our temps will cool back down to the 50s and 60s across the region. On Thursday, we will top out into the 80s and 90s. Billings could see 93, Forsyth, 97 and Jordan 98 degrees.

We will cool back down to 88 degrees at 5:30 p.m. and back down to the 60s the morning and back up to 88 degrees about 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

We will top out at 93 degrees on Thursday and keep it into the 90s for the next seven days.
