Get ready for some wind on Sunday

As high pressure strengthens over the Pacific Northwest, pressure gradients will tighten up over the region bringing more wind.

High Wind Warnings are posted for a large portion of central Montana from the high line Rocky Mountain Front Range east and south, including the upper Yellowstone Valley.

Winds in the affected areas could reach gusts of up to 60 mph at times late tonight through Sunday and even into early Monday.

Meanwhile, isolated showers will pop up across the region Sunday but remain mostly dry Monday with warmer than average temperatures both days.

The forecast for Billings

Tonight: Mostly clear, west winds 10 to 20 mph and a low of 34.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy and warmer, southwest winds 15 to 25 mph, a 30 percent chance of scattered showers and a high of 56.

Sunday night: Mostly cloudy and windy, a 20 percent chance of isolated showers and a low of 41.

Monday: Sunny and warmer, breezy at times and a high of 58.
