Q2 Weather: First day of fall does not mean summer weather has left

BILLINGS — This is one of those weeks we need a day-to-day breakdown of the weather.

Warm and dry Tuesday, with highs mainly in the upper 70s to upper 80s. A cold front passing through this evening resists slight chance for light rain or nicely rumble of thunder. Winds could gust 25 to 30 mph during the evening.

Behind the front, Wednesday will be slightly cooler with a highs in the 70s to low 80s.

Thursday, expect a spike in the temperatures well into the 80s. A few places could be close to record high temperatures. Winds will increase increasing wildfire risk.

Friday, expect a significant cool down with highs mainly in the 60s. Winds will blow off and on Friday and Saturday with a the chance of showers or isolated thunderstorms.

The fall equinox signals the official start of fall at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Tuesday… Sunny to mostly sunny but with some wildfire smoke and a light wind. High near 85.

Tuesday night… Light winds and mainly clear. Around 50 for the low.

Wednesday… A mix of clouds and sunshine and a little cooler. About 81 for the high.
