Q2 Weather: Cooler temperatures return briefly

BILLINGS — We are back to cooler temperatures briefly with scattered showers and thunderstorms.

A cold front passed through the area Wednesday night, bringing high temperatures down 10 to 15 degrees Thursday afternoon compared to Wednesday. Highs will be mainly in the 70s to mid 80s both Thursday and Friday.

Additional moisture is also streaming into the area, bringing up relative humidity numbers and increasing the chance of showers and thunderstorms Thursday evening through Friday. Scattered isolated showers and thunderstorms will move from west to east.

The heat returns starting Saturday, with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s. The hottest days will be Sunday and Monday with a highs in the mid to lower 90s for the lower elevations. Expect a dry and sunny to mostly sunny weekend.

Billings forecast:

Thursday… Increasing clouds with a high near 82. East breeze 5 to 10 mph.

Thursday night… Scattered isolated showers and thunderstorms possible during the evening and overnight. Gradual clearing early Friday with a low around 57.

Friday… Sunny to mostly sunny but an isolated shower or thunderstorm is possible in the afternoon and evening. Around 81 for the high.
