BILLINGS — A variety of spring weather conditions highlight the rest of the week.

For Tuesday, slightly cooler conditions as the temperatures will be mainly in the 70s. Decreasing clouds through the afternoon, but still a chance of showers and thunderstorms especially around the mountains.

Highs will vary between the 70s and 80s across the area for the rest of the work week, with lows in the 40s and 50s. A series of disturbances keep scattered isolated showers going with the chance of rain increasing closer to the weekend.

Current trends are indicating cooler weather next week with a better chance of rain. Details are still murky.

Most of the area streams, creeks and rivers are running high with portions of the Boulder, Clarks Fork of the Yellowstone, and Yellowstone rivers running at or near flood stage. Swift and cold water with dangerous currents, debris, and unstable riverbanks make floating or swimming area rivers very hazardous.

Billings forecast:

Tuesday… Decreasing clouds with a high near 78. Winds are light and variable.

Tuesday night… Partly cloudy with a low around what 58.

Wednesday… Partly to mostly sunny with a high close to 83.
