BILLINGS — Monday holds the best chance of showers and thunderstorms, and some could be strong to severe.

A Pacific cold front will bring scattered thunderstorms across much of Montana on Monday. A few storms may become strong to severe, with frequent lightning, strong winds and large hail, especially from Billings to the west and north.

Winds will become breezy through Monday afternoon, with an easterly wind drawing more moisture into the area.

High temperatures remain very warm with readings in the upper 80s to 90s Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday will trend somewhat cooler the highs in the 80s with a few low 90s. Temperatures edge back up to 90s again on Thursday and level off for the weekend.

Monday night… Scattered late afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms could persist a bit past midnight. Otherwise mostly cloudy with a low around 62.
