BILLINGS — Strong to severe storms could develop east of Billings through the afternoon and evening with the potential for damaging winds and hail.

Highs hit the 70s to low 80s in Eastern Montana and Northern Wyoming on Wednesday, with a mix of clouds and sun. Storms could start to develop as early as the afternoon with strong to severe storms possible through the evening.

Dewpoints are high, indicating a lot of available moisture. With the heat of the day and good lift in the atmosphere, all the ingredients for damaging storms are present.
