Q2 Weather: Severe Thunderstorms Again

BILLINGS – Severe thunderstorms possible in the area Sunday PM.

The National Storms Prediction Center has issued a slight risk for severe thunderstorms for a region of southeast Montana and northeast Wyoming.

The watch area reaches as far north and west as Columbus, Billings and Hardin.

Severe thunderstorms could contain up to golf ball size hail, a moderate chance of flash flooding and wind gusts up to 60 mph.

Monday will be mostly sunny and mild, but with a lesser ‘marginal’ risk of severe weather east and south of the Billings area Monday afternoon and evening.

The forecast for Billings

Tonight: Cloudy with northeast winds 5 to 15 mph and a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms could be severe. Tonight’s low: 58.

Monday: Mostly sunny, a 20% chance of isolated afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms and a high of 83.

Monday Night: Mostly clear, a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms and a low of 59.

Tuesday: Partly cloudy and cooler with a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms and a high of 79.
