BILLINGS – The sharp transition to cooler and wetter weather is still on track.

Warm again Wednesday, with highs in the 70s to low 80s. And, as we have seen in the last couple of evenings, a few showers and thunderstorms will develop Wednesday afternoon and evening.

A strong weather system is still on track to reach us by late Thursday into Friday. By Thursday night, this could mean some strong thunderstorms.

Showers will become more widespread on Friday, and temperatures will struggle to make it out of the 40s Saturday afternoon. The cooler and unsettled weather continues into early next week.

Billings forecast

Wednesday… Partly sunny with a high near 81. A chance of an afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm.

Wednesday night… A chance of an evening shower or thunderstorm. Mostly cloudy overnight with a slight chance of showers. Low near 54.

Thursday… Partly sunny with a high near 75. An increasing chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. Some storms could produce heavy rain.
