BILLINGS – Pretty pleasant late fall weather for now before the snow and colder temperatures by the weekend.
The westerly winds have relaxed around Livingston to about 15 to 25 mph for Wednesday, and around 10 to 20 mph around Billings.
Expect a mix of clouds and sun with Wednesday afternoon highs mainly in the 40s to a few low 50s. For Thursday, highs will be mainly in the 40s with sunshine.
Lows will be mainly in the 20s early Thursday and Friday mornings.
Signs still indicate significant widespread snowfall starting later in the day on Friday and continuing through Sunday. Lighter scattered snow could continue into Tuesday.
The exact area with a heaviest snow accumulations is still unclear, but some areas could easily pick up 6 to 10 inches with significantly more in the higher elevations.
The storm appears to favor areas from Billings toward the east, with some of the higher accumulations likely in the Bull mountains and Bighorn mountains of northern Wyoming.
