Q2 Weather: Travel conditions change Friday

and last updated

BILLINGS- Travel is good for now, but changes kick in Friday.

Despite increased clouds, temperatures for Thanksgiving Day hold up pretty well.  Highs will be mainly 45 to 55.

Winds will be strong once again around Livingston, Harlowton, Big Timber and Nye with gusts to 45 mph possible. Anywhere from Billings to the west will have breezy periods.

East of Billings looks more pleasant with sun, clouds, and lighter winds.

Friday will trend slightly cooler and windier.

Starting Friday night through especially Saturday morning, the chance of snow increases and the temperatures decrease. Lower elevations, including Billings, could see 1 to 4 inches of snow (Billings looks to be on the low end of the scale), with 4-8 inches in the mountain foothills, and up to a foot on the higher peaks.

Watch for changing travel conditions.
