The weather story today centers around the passage of a cold front. Here in Billings we will likely feel the effects of this front in the evening hours.
Cloud cover will build throughout the day.
Ahead of this system we will have a warm afternoon with temperatures jumping up into the mid 80s.
Breezy conditions are also likely to be present for much of the day and we will see that wind shift to a cool, northwesterly breeze as the front passes this evening.
Also tied to the frontal passage are the possibilities for some showers and weak thunderstorms this evening.
I’m targeting 5-7 p.m. for the development of any storms we might see. We are not talking about any type of severe weather, but some showers and erratic wind gusts are possible if any of these types of storms pass through our area.
In the wake of this system we will have a cooler day to kick off the weekend on Friday. Things will start on the cloudy side but will clear out over the course of the day.
This will set the stage for a sunny and seasonally pleasant long weekend. As of right now the holiday Monday looks like the warmest day of the weekend.
