BILLINGS — Happy new year! Wind will highlight areas West of Billings, with rain and snow showers to the East.
Wind gusts of 60 to 70 miles an hour expected to cause hazardous travel conditions along I 90 from Big Timber to Harlowton Wednesday. Strong winds will also blow around Harlowton and Judith Gap. Gusts around Billings will hit 35 to 45 mph through Thursday.
High temperatures New Year’s Day will be mainly in the 40s. Average this time of the year is the mid-30s. For Thursday, expect 35 to 45° for most of the region with above average temperatures continuing through the weekend.
Saturday may be the warmest day overall with highs expected in the 50s. Overnight temperatures will be in the 20s and 30s, well above seasonal averages.

New Years Day... A chance of a morning shower. Otherwise decreasing clouds with high of about 49. Southwest wind 15 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph.
Wednesday night... A slight chance of an evening shower. Mostly cloudy with a low near 36. Continued wind.
Thursday...Partly sunny and around 44 for the high. Southwest winds increase to 15 to 25 mph. Gusts to 40.
