SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Sirhan Sirhan, who shot and killed Robert F. Kennedy in 1968, has been hospitalized after being stabbed in a prison near San Diego, officials told The Associated Press on Friday.
The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation confirmed that an inmate had been assaulted at the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility, where Sirhan is being detained.
A Cal Fire spokesman said his team transported the inmate, who was then transferred to a local hospital.
Officials have not yet directly named the inmate.
