A hunter reported shooting a grizzly in Eureka Basin in the South Gravelly Mountains Saturday afternoon, according to Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks.

FWP says the hunter was uninjured and reportedly shot the bear in self defense. The hunter reported the incident to FWP the same day.

No further details are available at this time as FWP is continuing to investigate.

Two other human-caused grizzly bear deaths that occurred last week in the West Yellowstone area are under investigation by FWP and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.

FWP said a news release "the interagency investigation is still ongoing, and details of those incidents will be released as they become available."
