Jefferson Co. escapee apprehended in Lake County

CHARLO — The man who escaped a week ago from a Jefferson County jail has been apprehended in Lake County, according to Lake County Sheriff-Coroner Donald R Bell.

Gee was arrested Friday afternoon after a foot pursuit near the town of Charlo.

Gee was found hiding in an outbuilding east of town and tried to flee across the field and was arrested by US Marshals, with the assistance of the Lake County Sheriff deputy’s and the Confederated Salish Kootenai Tribal police.

Tory Gee has been at large since escaping from the Jefferson County Detention Center on Oct. 11. Gee also is suspected for stealing at least three vehicles while on the run from authorities in Jefferson, Madison and Beaverhead counties.

Madison County Sheriff Phil Fortner said he had no details about Gee’s arrest in Flathead County as of today. Madison County plans to have Gee extradited back to face charges.
