BOZEMAN – While the demolition of both MSU gyms continues, a viewer happened to be nearby when the North Gym’s north wall was knocked down.
And he caught it on camera.
MSU student Andy Turner got the shot from the top floor of the parking garage next door.
University officials say crews are carefully taking down each wall as to not hurt the rest of the fitness center connected to it.
But the plan includes knocking down both the Upper Gym and the South Gym, which was the first to have its roof collapse.

Students say seeing the empty spot brings back memories of when it all happened.
“There are older buildings here. It’s kind of something that sits in the back of your mind as you are sitting there in class,” said AJ Davidson, MSU student. “Crazy stuff and there were people in there, like, 18 hours a day and it is nice to see no one got hurt.”
MSU officials say they cannot say when exactly the demolition will be complete but the next gym will be ripped down in the next few weeks.
