BILLINGS — Gates open at 5 p.m. tonight for the two-day musical event that hits the streets of downtown Billings every summer.

The Main gate for Montana’s Urban Music Festival, The Magic City Blues Festival, is at the 2500 block of Montana Ave.

The event kicks off Friday at 5:00 p.m.

The first band to play will be the Mudslide Charley Band at 5:00 p.m on the Stillwater stage, followed by the Nick Schnebelen Band and Marcia Ball.

At 6:00 p.m. music will start on the Budweiser stage with the Hawthorne Roots. The Chubby Carrier & The Bayou Swamp Band will play after and the show will wrap up with George Thorogood & The Destroyers.

The music continues into Saturday!

This year marks the third year George Thorogood & the Destroyers will be coming to the festival, and Tim Goodridge the promotor of the event says, he has been the inspiration from the beginning.

"Well I just loved him. He's a blues act, a rock act and people who grew up in my generation and listend to him and he did this famous fifty states in fifty days tour that really put him on the map," Goodridge says. "He killed it that show and everyone went nuts it was just a great show. "

Gates open at 5:00 p.m. and music will fill the streets all from Bands like Not Your Boyfriend's Band and Arterial Drive.

There are General admission tickets and 2-day passes available online as well as reserved tables and seating.

Chairs will be provided throughout the venue and concessions will be on site to keep you fed and hydrated while jamming out to some Blues tunes.

This is an 18 and over event and you are asked to bring your I.D.

No coolers, no carry-ins (no chairs), no outside food or drink.

No pets. No babies/children under 18. No cameras.
