WHEATLAND, wyo. — A Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper was injured in a two-vehicle crash while helping a stranded motorist Thursday afternoon south of Wheatland.
The trooper, who was not identified, was responding to a vehicle that went off the slushy Interstate 25 when she was struck by a passing commercial truck around 1:08 p.m., according to a highway patrol news release.
She was wearing her seat belt inside her patrol vehicle and parked on the shoulder of the road when she was rear ended. She was taken to Platte County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
The crash closed the northbound lanes of I-25. Wheatland is about an hour north of Cheyenne.
The driver of the commercial vehicle was not injured. The highway patrol did not say whether that driver will face charges.
