Some people in Billings have already received their second round of stimulus payments, but others are still waiting for their $600.
According to IRS.gov, a statement was made on Jan. 7 that urged people eligible for a stimulus payment to “watch their mail carefully.”
The first round of stimulus payments was made via direct deposit or check, but some people can expect their second round of payments to be in a different form.
“To speed delivery of the payments to reach as many people as soon as possible the Treasury's Bureau of Fiscal Service is sending payments out by prepaid debit card,” said the IRS.
According to the IRS, the card is safe, convenient and secure. It will act as a normal debit card in allowing individuals to make online or in-store purchases, transfer funds to a personal account, and check balances online.
