The Shepherd School Board will meet Thursday night to possibly hear an appeal on former Superintendent Scott Carter's termination.
The board does not know if Carter will appeal, Board Chairman Carl Openshaw said Thursday.
The board voted unanimously to terminate Carter on Aug. 29.
On Aug. 23, the board had placed him on paid administrative leave, “pending a review of allegations the he engaged in conduct that violated School District policy.”
Carter later stated in a letter posted on the district's website and Facebook page, that he "violated the trust of the community by showing up at work...smelling like alcohol."
The board will meet at 6:30 pm.
