BILLINGS — After last night's blustery weather, we woke up to a beautiful sight this morning: blue skies crowning fresh snow along the Beartooths.
Red Lodge Mountain’s Kelsey Borge says after the dreary skies and rain Wednesday, Thursday morning's blue sky and snow was "pretty exciting for everyone up there".
Opening day for Red Lodge Mountain is 75 days away, the Friday after Thanksgiving. Regardless, Borge says "it’s never too early to be thinking about ski season.”
Snow levels dropped to around 7,500 to 8,000 feet Wednesday night, temporarily closing portions of US 212. As of Wednesday morning, Beartooth Pass is currently open across the top and into Wyoming.
