BILLINGS — Turkey Tuesday at the Q2 studios was a success, with more than 500 turkeys donated to the Billings Food Bank. And some who donated got something in return.

The pile of frozen turkeys filled the beds of four pickup trucks bound for the Billings Food Bank.

Boy Scout Troops 29 and 7 were on hand to unload the trucks as they arrived.

People who donated turkeys were also entered into a drawing for one of four $100 Cenex Zip-Trip gas gift cards, and two pairs of Cat-Griz tickets.

The winners of the gas cards were: Nancy Hardy, Sandi Morris, Wayne Denowh, and Arne Cook.

Allen Peters and LaVaun Black were the lucky recipients of the Cat-Griz tickets.

While the 500 turkeys donated by Q2 viewers certainly made a dent, the food bank needs a total of 1,300 turkeys just for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Christmas season comes with a larger need for the food bank. An additional 1,300 turkeys are needed for Christmas.

All donations made to the Billings Food Bankwill go to local families in need to help them have a full holiday spread.
