Three Montana tribal colleges will receive substantial, no-strings-attached donations from billionaire philanthropist MacKenzie Scott.

Chief Dull Knife College in Lame Deer will receive $1 million, while Blackfeet Community College in Browning and Salish Kootenai College in Pablo were also among the list of recipients.

Scott, the ex-wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and the company's first accountant, has called coronavirus pandemic "a wrecking ball in the lives of Americans already struggling." She's pledged to give away $4 billion in recent months to various causes to help the underprivileged, including a $1 million grant to the Billings YWCA.

“If you’re craving a way to use your time, voice, or money to help others at the end of this difficult year, I highly recommend a gift to one of the thousands of organizations doing remarkable work all across the country," Scott said in a statement announcing the grants.
