Northcutte Steele Gallery to host artist talk

BILLINGS — The Northcutte Steele Gallery at MSU Billings will host artist Luzene Hill's presentation "The Sound of Silence," at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

Hill's visit is part of the university's collaboration with The Writer's Voice to honor the U.S. Poet Laureate Joy Harjo.

Hill is an enrolled member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. She lives and works in Atlanta, Ga. and her work has been exhibited throughout the U.S., Canada, United Kingdom, Russia and Japan.

She is a multi-media artist whose work is known for socially engaged conceptual installations and performances. Much of her work addresses violence against women.

The Northcutte Steele Gallery is located on the first floor of the Liberal Arts building and is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A catered reception will folow and parking is free after 5 p.m.
