The Moss Mansion started its Halloween celebration with COVID precautions in place.
All those wanting to get in on "Horror Theater: Ghost Encounters" checked in at the tent outside.
The number of people inside is limited for safety.
All tickets must be purchase in advance and there are no cash transactions.
Only one Moss Mansion event, Springfest, had to be canceled this year.
Even the Moss family had a Halloween tradition and it was important to those working at the mansion to bring people to the house.
"Normally you'd come and there'd be people everywhere," Executive Director Jenna Peete said about Moss Mansion grounds. "We would have the maze up and running. We would have big tours going through the house. It's a tradition now, so we're excited that we can still continue to do it this year. And some of it came from the fact that Clark Avenue would close down on Halloween and it's just such a festive affair. But we are committed to just keeping it going."
"The house has its theme and it's not anything about the Moss family," said Marlene McCave, Moss Mansion event manager. "So if you came here wanting to have a historical house tour, you'd be disappointed because that's not the idea of this. The house is just a really good setting for whatever we write and get put together."
"Ghost Encounters" will run the next two weeks on Fridays and Saturdays, Oct. 23, 24, 30 and 31.
