BILLINGS — The Downtown Billings Alliance helped the community take a step toward being more dog-friendly earlier this week by painting and laying synthetic grass at a fire hydrant located at Second Avenue North and North 29th Street.

Downtown Billings Alliance director of events Lindsay Richardson said Friday the group plans to add another fire hydrant at Broadway and Second Avenue North.

Richardson said the Business Improvement District, a group that is part of the alliance, completed the hydrant in the rain on Wednesday.

Toad n Willow, the business behind the hydrant, painted the hydrant with the dalmatian dog design, Richardson said.

In the future, the DBA will add another hydrant at Broadway and Second Avenue North, complete with doggy-doo collection bags.
