Over the past 35 years, Q2 Chief Forecaster Bob McGuire has broadcast more than 26,000 weathercasts on TV. That doesn’t include hundreds of severe weather alerts and forecasts on digital media platforms.

On Tuesday, Bob was down to his last 20 TV presentations as he gets ready to retire on Dec. 31. And the Q2 News Team found a way for current and former staff to say thank you for a job well done.

Due to most people working remotely and restrictions on indoor gatherings, Q2 held a drive-by goodbye to Bob outside the station.

Cars backed up into the street as stories were shared and goodbyes were passed along through car windows. Former anchors and reporters, photographers, and office staff let Bob know how much he has meant to the station and to the viewers.

In typical Bob fashion he had the wind “howlin like a big dog” for the car parade in his honor.
