BILLINGS — Only two tickets per participant will be allowed for the Class AA state football championship between Billings West and Missoula Sentinel on Friday, School District 2 Activities Director Mark Wahl has confirmed to MTN.
This is the same policy SD2 has used for all games played in Yellowstone County this season.
Each player, coach, and cheerleader for both West and Sentinel will submit two names and those people will be allowed into the game. No pep bands or student sections will be permitted, per the MHSA's postseason guidelines.
Wahl said the district would revisit the fan policy after last week's semifinals, especially if both West and Senior won to set up a crosstown Class AA championship game. But with COVID-19 numbers continuing to rise, and a new statewide directive from Gov. Steve Bullock limiting gatherings to 25 people, SD2 will stay at the MHSA's minimum allowable number of spectators.
The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday night at Daylis Stadium. Those unable to be in attendance can watch through the NFHS network for a small fee.
