BILLINGS — Billings police and firefighters put out a fire burning a motorcycle that was seemingly left abandoned in Harvest Park around 5:45 a.m. Sunday, according to the man who called in the fire.

Billings resident Cliff Kirkham first reported the fire to authorities. He sent Q2 photos of what he said was a moped or other kind of motorcycle abandoned and on fire in the park near his home.

A Billings police officer was first to respond and used an extinguisher put out the fire enough to move the motorcycle away from a nearby tree, Kirkham said.

A crew with the Billings Fire Department responded, but couldn't find a way to safely navigate the large truck into the park, Kirkham said. Instead, the first responders carried a larger hand-held fire extinguisher to the scene to completely put out the fire.
