Three Billings-based businesses will receive state grants through Big Sky Economic Development for creating jobs, Gov. Steve Bullock announced Monday.

The $1.255 million in statewide grants are awarded through the Montana Department of Commerce's Big Sky Economic Development Trust Fund Job Creation Program.

The three Billings businesses are:

  • Alpine Aviation, Inc., will receive $150,000 for creating an estimated 30 jobs. The grant will be used for wage reimbursement.
  • Complete LLC (Webbuy), will receive up to $85,000 for creating an estimated 17 jobs. The grants will be used to purchase equipment, computers, furniture, fixtures and for wage reimbursement.
  • Meadow Lark Agency, Inc., will receive up to $150,000 for creating an estimated 30 jobs. Grant money will be used to purchase construction materials, furniture, fixtures, equipment and for wage reimbursement.

Local and tribal governments may apply for the funding on behalf of businesses for the creation of good-paying jobs. Businesses may apply directly for the funding. Funds are provided once the jobs have been created at the qualifying wage and eligible expenses have been incurred.

A total of 12 grants were awarded statewide, according to Bullock's office.
