Billings boy dies from crash injuries

BILLINGS - A 5-year-old Billings boy has died from injuries he suffered in a Friday crash.

Billings police said on Twitter that the boy died following a crash on South 32nd Street West between King Avenue West and Gabel Road.

No arrests or citations have been issued as a result of the crash, the tweet states.

A press release states:

On 11/23/2019 at about 4:48 pm, a Honda Accord passenger car traveling north collided with a utility van traveling north on South 32nd Street West. The rear-end collision occurred in the northbound lanes about 100 yards north of the crest of the hill and ditch. The Accord was driven by a 19-year-old male with three male passengers ages 18, 18, and 20, all from Billings. The utility van was driven by a 53-year-old Billings man. There were no injuries.

Approximately 10 minutes later, at about 4:58 p.m., an Acura TSX traveling south in the southbound lane on South 32nd West was struck by a Chevrolet Uplander traveling south in the southbound lane. This rear-end collision occurred in the area of the previous northbound collision. After the collision, the Acura proceeded south on South 32nd West and collided head-on with a GMC Yukon traveling north in the northbound lane near the entrance to City Towing.

The driver of the Uplander, an 83-year-old woman from Billings, was not injured. The driver of the GMC Yukon, a 17-year-old male from Billings, and a 15-year-old female passenger from Billings were not injured.

The driver of the Honda Acura, a 29-year-old woman from Billings, and three child passengers were transported by ambulance to the hospital. There were two 5-year-old boys and one 6-year-old girl all from Billings.

One of the 5-year-old boys died in a Salt Lake City hospital on Sunday afternoon.
