SWEET GRASS COUNTY — Authorities were unable to locate missing fisherman Bradford Meadows after an increased search of the area around Fourmile Campground in Sweet Grass County Saturday.

"I thought for sure we would find something today," said Sweet Grass County Alan Ronneberg.

50-year-old Meadows of Billings was last seen July 24 fishing on the Boulder River near Fourmile Campground 42 miles south of Big Timber.

The search team was made up of local search and rescue volunteers, two dog teams from Gallatin County Search and Rescue, a drone pilot from Sweet Grass UAS, and a dive team from U.S. Water Rescue from Yellowstone County.

Ronneberg said search crews lowered underwater cameras into the rapids downstream from were Meadows was observed to have fallen in July 24, but nothing was found.

Search crews were out from 8 a.m. to 6:40 p.m., Saturday.

"We're probably going to suspend the search after today," Ronneberg said. "We're going to move toward more passive search options."
